WHY MEDITATE?
Life today is full of stress and tension in all aspects – professional, personal and social. Be it work in the software industry, a medical hospital or university, there’s more and more competition and demands for perfection in stressful situations. And life at home is no less demanding.
How can one face all of this with confidence and, more importantly, a calm disposition that would get results?
By regulating the mind, increasing our capacity to focus and bringing a balance to our emotions and thoughts.
The Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from Meditation?”
“Nothing,” he replied. “However, let me tell you what I lost: anger, anxiety, stress, depression, insecurity, fear of old age and death.”
WHAT IS MEDITATION?
Meditation is continually thinking about one object at a time. All other thoughts and ideas that divert us are ignored, while the mind is trained to bring the focus gently back to the object of meditation.
Now what happens when this is practiced every day?
Like the magnifying glass that can focus the rays of the sun at one point and even drill a hole in wood, the mind becomes much stronger, able to focus better and finish any task faster, more effectively and accurately.
Heartfulness Meditation also teaches its practitioners another very effective technique of mental cleaning. Through this cleaning process, one is able to remove all negative and weaker tendencies, stress, anxiety and anger. Combined with a simple and very effective meditation that reinforces the positive aspects of a person, and the cleaning that removes all the negative aspects, it becomes very easy to remain peaceful, balanced and stress-free in all situations.
And a balanced/ calm person has better clarity of thought in stressful situations, makes the right decisions and hence is more effective.
